For as long as people have been less than honest with each other, false advertising has existed. Luckily, however, California laws prohibiting this practice with regard to consumer goods and services are perhaps the strongest in the nation, yielding extraordinary amounts of damages, including punitive damages, for the benefit of unsuspecting purchasers. The area of consumer fraud is wide reaching, including claims for misrepresentation, “bait and switches,” price fixing, “tying” practices and unfair competition. Without a law firm skilled in handling such cases, as we have done many times, the laws around consumer fraud can seem complex and confusing. And yet, when the fraud happens to you, you intuitively know it, and you shouldn’t stand for it.
Our firm is currently investigating numerous companies for these practices and we strongly encourage you to contact us quickly if you believe you have been negatively impacted by any of these illegal practices.
