About Suncoast Credit Union

Cole & Van Note is investigating Suncoast Credit Union, a credit union in Florida. [1]

On November 26, 2025, Suncoast Credit Union was affected by a data breach involving Marquis Software Solutions, exposing the data of many of its clients, including 617 individuals in Maine. This breached data included names, Social Security numbers, and financial information. [2]

According to the breach notification filed with the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Suncoast Credit Union was notified that an unauthorized third party accessed certain data maintained by its service provider. The filing confirms that personal information belonging to credit union members was involved and that written notifications were issued to affected individuals. The report specifies that the information exposed included combinations of identifying and financial data and that the credit union-initiated response efforts following notice of the incident. [3]

Considering the number of people impacted by this event, Cole & Van Note’s data breach attorneys are considering legal action on behalf of those affected. If you have received notice of this data security incident, we urge you to contact us so we can help you with your case.

      • Malware: Malicious software, such as viruses or ransomware, is used to infiltrate systems and steal or encrypt data.
      • Weak Passwords: Using easily guessable or outdated passwords make it easy for hackers to gain access.
      • Unpatched Vulnerabilities: Failing to update software can leave known security gaps that attackers can exploit.
      • Insider Threats: Employees or contractors with access to sensitive data may compromise security.
      • Social Engineering: Manipulating individuals into divulging confidential information.
      • Data/Device Theft: Physical theft of devices, such as laptops or external drives, which grant access.
