Our lawsuit alleges Patelco failed to maintain appropriate cybersecurity, given the sensitive nature of the information customers entrusted to it. Indeed, we believe Patelco’s negligence affected all its customers in similar, if not identical, ways. The lawsuit seeks a court order mandating the company enhance and maintain better data security and, secondly, that damages be awarded for injuries to Patelco’s customers, including for identity theft, exfiltration and use of these customers’ Social Security numbers, and the lost time, inconvenience and anxiety victims of this data breach invariably suffered.
